History of RC Nansana
Rotary in Uganda
Currently Uganda is part of District 9211 along with Tanzania. Rotary in Uganda started in 1957 with the formation of the Rotary Club of Kampala. There are 63 autonomous and active RCs with an average of 35 members, totaling to over 1800 Rotarians. Effective July 2022. The 9211 district was split into two with independent Governance structures and the RC Nansana under District 9213
Rotary in Nansana
The Rotary Club of Nansana is one of the 102 autonomous and active RCs in Uganda, within the RI district 9213. The Club has a membership of 53 members, and it’s located in Nansana Municipality, Wakiso District. The Club chattered March 2009, has mothered two Rotary Clubs of Kawempe and Wakisio, two (2) Rotaract Club and five (6) Interact Clubs. Nansana, “the name tag” of the Club is a town in Central Uganda in Wakiso District and is one of the five (5) municipalities in Wakiso District. Nansana is located 7.5 miles along Kampala – Hoima highway, northwest of Kampala, Uganda’s capital and largest city. The Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) estimated the population of the Nansana at 79,100.
